Colin was 44 when he died. His main occupation was a painter and decorator, however he also worked
with vulnerable adults for a while, providing advice and support to those less fortunate. He lived
in Berkshire with me and was the most fantastic step-father to my 2 daughters. He also had a son and
daughter.
He quite simply was my soul-mate, we called each other 'poppet' incessantly, very rarely using our
christian names. We spoke and would text each other as much as our jobs allowed, always longing to
be reunited with each other, where we belonged. We hated separation for however short a time.
My life now feels purely functional, I have to be here for my children, but I feel as tho I am now a
flat, one dimensional being. When Colin died he took my essence, and nothing will ever replace
that.

I love you to the moon and back a trillion times poppet.

You left us quietly,
Your thoughts unknown,
But left us a memory,
We are proud to own;
So treasure them Lord,
In Your garden of rest,
For when on earth,
They were the very best.

He's got to be one of the most smiliest angels you've got up there Lord!!

If u love me as a friend u'll read the whole thing. What would you do if for every moment you were truly happy there would be 10 moments of sadness? What would you do if your best friend died tomorrow and you never got to tell them how you felt? So, I just wanted to say, even if I never talk to you again in my life, you are special to me and you have made a difference in my life. I look up to you, respect you, and truly cherish you. Send this to all your friends, no matter how often you talk, or how close you are, and send it to the person who sent it to you. Let old friends know you haven't forgotten them, and tell new friends you never will. Remember, everyone needs a friend. dont ever leave the one u love for the one u like, because the one u like will leave u for the one they love.
If you wake up in a red room with no windows and doors, DON'T panic.. you're just in my heart!!! Send this to all the friends you want to keep forever...

However you may have felt, You were never that alone Poppet

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed
he was walking along the beach with the LORD.

Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of
footprints in the sand: one belonging
to him, and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.

He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the LORD about it:

"LORD, you said that once I decided to follow
you, you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The LORD replied:

"My son, my precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
it was then that I carried you."

A poem for Him xx

I wanted to hear the voice,
The voice of my dad.
Instead it was the headstone,
Of the life he had.
Want to see him smile,
Hug him once more.
Want to talk to him for a while,
Wish i could see him once more.
Everyone was crying,
Never seen them so upset.
poppet is what he said.
Seeing my step sister crying as we held hands,
Tears flowing freely.
Knowing he'll be lowered in land,
I know we'll always miss him.
But we'll never be apart,
There will always be apart of him ...
Deep down in my heart.
R.I.P. Dad:(

no words can express the pain of losing you

It's been an unbearable time, the first 'anniversary' of your death. I wished I was with you innumerate times, I wished i could've changed what happened, oh just so many things I cannot write here & now.
baby, love you to the moon and back, via Heaven xxx

In memory

In memory of Col who brought much happiness to the lives of those we love. We know Colin would be very proud of the way those he left behind have kept true to his spirit when he was well and himself. To make the most of the time they had with Colin and also by living the rest of their lives while he watches over with his smile.

We all thought of you, the girls wanted to come to Crawley, but it was really Ellie's day.
You are still the best Dad in the world.
